Ellis Island is only accessible to the public by ferry. You can choose to take the ferry in Battery Park, located in Lower Manhattan in New York City, or take it in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. These ferries are operated by Statue Cruises and it takes from 10 to 15 minutes to get there.

 

The price of the ferry varies depending on the age of the people. The regular price is free for children under four years, $12.00 for children between four and fourteen, $23.50 for adults older than thirteen years, and $18.00 for seniors older than sixty-two. People can also opt for a free ride if they take the Ranger Tour.
